Niagara IceDogs News Release
Niagara IceDogs Graham Knott and Vince Dunn participated in the BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects game for Team Cherry tonight in St. Catharines.
Team Orr, which featured IceDogs coaches Marty Williamson, Dave Bell and Billy Burke behind the bench, took a 2-0 lead in the first thanks to goals by Ryan Pilon and Timo Meier.
After a goalless second period, back-to-back goals in the first nine minutes of the third by Travis Konecny made it 4-0 for Team Orr. Nathan Noel and Paul Bittner also added goals for Team Orr to make it a 6-0 final.
Despite losing 6-0, Dunn and Knott played well for Team Cherry and made the IceDogs proud.
The game capped off an exciting week for the prospects and fans, and even Prime Minister Stephen Harper was in attendance to take in all the action.
This event was a once in a lifetime experience for these players and it's one they will never forget.
