Lexington, KY - The Greenville Drive (28-19) offense was up to the task of handling the Lexington Legends (20-27) pitching staff in Thursday night's series opener, rapping out 15 hits in a 5-4 victory.

Of the Drive's five runs on the night, four of them were driven in by right fielder Nick Longhi. With the bases loaded and nobody out in the fifth, Longhi singled to left field to drive in a pair and put the Drive up 3-2. In the very next inning, with the game tied at three, Longhi plated two more runs with a single to center field.

Rafael Devers had three hits to push his average up to .340, which ranks second in the South Atlantic League, and Javier Guerra added three hits of his own, including a pair of doubles. Longhi and Mike Meyers each chipped in with two hits as well.

The offense gave a boost to Drive starter Reed Reilly (3-2), who picked up the win after allowing two earned runs over five innings.

The Drive jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the third when Francisco Tellez hit a one-out single and later scored on a passed ball.

Lexington scored twice to take the lead in the fourth on solo homers by Wander Franco and Mike Hill, and added a run in the fifth on a Ryan O'Hearn RBI single.

Elier Hernandez cut the Greenville lead to one with an RBI single in the seventh, but Carlos Pinales slammed the door over the final two innings to record his second save.

Humberto Arteaga had three hits to lead Lexington, while Hernandez, Chase Vallot and Luis Villegas added two apiece. Legends starter Scott Blewett struck out eight over four innings in his season debut.

The series continues on Friday night at 7:05 PM in Lexington. LH Dedgar Jimenez (3-1, 2.77) will start on the mound for the Drive, and RH Zach Lovvorn (3-4, 4.01) takes the hill for the Legends.
