Drevitch's hat trick leads Frostbite past Vipers

GLENS FALLS, NY -- Scott Drevitch tallied a hat trick to lead the Adirondack Frostbite to a 6-4 win over the Roanoke Valley Vipers on Friday in front of 2,631 fans at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The Frostbite tied their season high with their fifth-straight win, and are now unbeated in their last six games.

The teams traded goals in the first period, as the score was knotted 3-3 after 20 minutes. Roanoke took the lead 5:47 into the second period as Jan Jas gathered in a loose puck along the near boards of the Frostbite end, and centered a pass in front for David Beauregard who was all alone, and beat Derek Gustafson for his 27th of the seaon.

Adirondack came back to tie the game at 15:23. Drevitch took a shot from the left point that goaltender Trevor Cunning never saw giving the veteran defenseman his second goal of the night.

Drevitch completed the hat trick at 8:20 of the third period. The Frostbite were able to get good pressure on Cunning, who had lost his stick. Drevitch pinched in and was able to slide a rebound home from the top of the crease for his ninth of the season.

Mike Berry gave the Frostbite some insurance with his 17th of the season at 17:55. He took a centering feed from Josh Mizerek, and deked Cunning to the ice, sliding a shot into an open net to set the final score.

Adirondack outshot Roanoke 36-25 for the game, and allowed the Vipers only 13 shots over the final two periods. The Frostbite gained one point on the first-place Danbury Trashers, who lost in a shootout at Richmond.
