South Bend, Ind.-Brian O'Grady's two-out infield single brought in Ronald Bueno from third base with the tie-breaking run in the top of the 10th inning and the Dayton Dragons held on to defeat the South Bend Silver Hawks 2-1 on Thursday night. The win was the Dragons sixth straight and kept their playoff hopes alive as they head home to begin a three-game series with Lake County that will conclude the first half.

The win lifted the Dragons to within one game of the wildcard slot with three games to play in the first half race. The Dragons would earn a first half playoff berth if they win their final three games while Great Lakes loses two of three and Bowling Green loses at least one of their final three. Great Lakes plays at first place Lansing while Bowling Green plays at seventh place Fort Wayne.

The winning rally began when Bueno bunted for a base hit with one out in the top of the 10th. Luis Gonzalez followed with a double to the right field corner to move Bueno to third. Paul Kronenfeld struck out for the second out, but O'Grady followed with a bouncer to shortstop, and beat the throw to first base to allow Bueno to score.

In the bottom of the 10th, Dragons reliever Jake Ehret (2-1) allowed lead-off single but retired the next three batters to end the game with the tying run at second base.

The Dragons (37-30) return home to open a three-game series with the Lake County Captains (35-30) on Friday night at 7:00 at Fifth Third Field. Tyler Mahle (6-4, 3.16) will start for the Dragons against Lake County's Sean Brady (5-3, 2.88). The series will continue through Sunday and conclude the "first half" season.

All Dragons games are broadcast on radio on Fox Sports 980 WONE and on the internet at wone.com. Games are also available on the Dayton Dragons mobile app.
