Today's Game: The Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) host the Hot Rods (affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) in the second game of a three-game set. This is game two of a season-ending six-game home stand for Dayton.

Last Game: Bowling Green defeated Dayton 5-3 in the first game of the series. 2008 National League All-Star Edinson Volquez started the game for Dayton and allowed just one unearned run in seven innings. Bowling Green won the game against Dayton reliever Josh Smith, scoring three in the eighth to break a 1-1 tie. The Dragons collected eight hits. Justin Reed had a solo homer for Dayton. Major League shortstop Orlando Cabrera went 0 for 3 for Dayton on an injury rehab assignment.

Today's Starting Pitcher: Jacob Johnson makes his 25th start of the season tonight. His last start came on Friday at South Bend and he earned the victory (5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO). Johnson since May 26: 8-2, 3.75 ERA. Johnson was the Dragons Pitcher of the Month in June (3-0, 2.14 in four starts). He is a 19-year-old native of Lake Worth, Florida. He was drafted by the Reds in the 11th round in 2009 out of Trinity Christian Academy. Johnson finished fifth in the 2009 Florida Mr. Baseball voting. He was named the Florida Class 1A Co-Player of the Year and a 1st Team All-State selection in '09. Johnson had committed to Wake Forest before signing with Reds. He played with the GCL Reds in 2009 (2-3, 2.83 ERA).
