Dayton, Ohio - Dan Scott, a stroke survivor and father of two children, will throw out the first pitch at the Dayton Dragons game on Sunday, June 15th, at 2:00 p.m . as the Dragons and Kettering Health Network celebrate "Strike Out Stroke Day." The Dragons host the Lake County Captains at Fifth Third Field, 220 North Patterson Blvd. in downtown Dayton. Strike Out Stroke is a registered trademark of the "Retreat and Refresh Stroke Camp."

On September 3rd, 2013, Dan was working for Hotopp Excavating at a job site when he noticed he wasn't able to speak. Within 10 minutes, Dan's co-workers called 911 and Dan was rushed to Kettering Medical Center where he was given a special drug to break up the blood clot he had developed. Dan slowly got his speech back and after two weeks of resting in the hospital and at his home, he was able to go back to work.
