The Down East Wood Ducks continue their series with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, tonight at 7:05. Down East turns to RHP Nick Krauth (1-2, 3.44) and Myrtle Beach will give the ball to RHP Jose Miguel Gonzalez (2-1, 3.86).

UNTIMELY WALKS CONTRIBUTE TO WOOD DUCKS LOSS AGAIN : The Down East Wood Ducks issued untimely walks in a 7-2 loss to the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Friday night. In addition, the offense was shut down as they only tallied three hits.
ROAD WARRIORS: Down East seems more comfortable playing on the road. Right now, the Wood Ducks are a league-best 19-8 on the road this season. This season, the Woodies have not lost a road series and are 4-0 with one six-game sweep.
SWIPER KEEP SWIPING!: Being fast and loose on the base paths has been the secret to their success. When the Wood Ducks steal a base, they are 26-14 on the season. Currently, the Wood Ducks tied for second in all of MiLB with 116 stolen bases on the season. Jayce Easley (28) and Luisangel Acuña (16) lead the way for the Wood Ducks as their two primary and best base stealers.
EARLY BIRD GETS THE WORM: The Woodies are outscoring opponents 229 - 197 and 71 - 49 in the first two innings. Down East is 15-4 when they score first, and 25-7 overall when they score first.
COLD START: After a strong finish to the month of June for the pitching staff, they've started off the month of July rather cold. Although they've played only two games in the month of July, the pitching staff currently holds the seventh worst ERA in all of MiLB with an 8.44 ERA and have walked 11 batters in 16.0 innings.
MIGHTY MASON: Mason Englert has caught fire since the start of June. After the first month of the season, Englert ended May with a 1-1 record and a 4.60 ERA. In June, he has made three starts, going 3-0 with a 1.69 ERA and 22 strikeouts over 16.0 innings.
