Estes Awesome, Fireflies Respond Late for 7-4 Win

North Augusta, SC - The GreenJackets led 4-1 heading to the 7th inning, and the Columbia Fireflies scored four times. They took a 5-4 advantage, and never looked back. Columbia added two more on a Tyler Tolbert home run in the 9th inning to win 7-4.
The Jackets will look to take the series with a win tomorrow night.
It was another great performance from Joey Estes. The young right-hander went six-innings allowing just one run. He'd strikeout five and retired the last 11 Fireflies he faced.
Estes was in line for the win, as his offense went to work. A sacrifice fly from Willie Carter gave the Jackets the lead in the third inning at 2-1. Bryson Horne's sacrifice fly made it a 3-1 game.
In the sixth, Stephen Paolini's base-hit scored Landon Stephens. Augusta led 4-1.
Columbia came roaring back against Gabriel Rodriguez in the 7th inning. They'd score four times to take a 5-4 advantage.
In the 9th inning, Matt Schmidt reached on an error. Ben Dum was a strike away from getting out of the inning, but Tyler Tolbert hit his first professional home run. It was the dagger, and Columbia won by a final of 7-4.
NOTES:
Bryson Horne finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Willie Carter collected his team leading 32nd RBI.
It's the second time this year Joey Estes has gone six innings.
