Great Lakes Loons News Release
The Michigan Baseball Foundation is auctioning a game-used base from the inaugural home game at Dow Diamond during the month of March in the second installment of MBF's monthly online auctions for 2009. All proceeds from the monthly online auctions benefit MBF, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and public charity.
This is an opportunity to own a piece of Dow Diamond history. The base was used on April 13, 2007, in the Great Lakes Loons' first home game at Dow Diamond. During the game, a total of nine bases were used in game action. The bidding starts at $250.
Each month, a new item can be found at Loons.com. Interested buyers can click on the rotating banner ad to place a bid. Prospective buyers will have from the first of each month until the last day of the month to place a bid for the month's featured item. Each month's highest bidder will be contacted by a member of the Loons staff to arrange a pickup of the item.
Last month's featured auction item was a Dodgers' road replica No. 22 jersey, signed by former Loons pitcher Clayton Kershaw. The item sold for $280.
Please contact Loons' staff members Ann Craig or Patti Tuma at 989-837-BALL with any questions.
