Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward, Doug Christiansen (see Royals' News, September 20, 2006) has been returned to Reading from Manchester. Christiansen, a fifth year pro from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was on loan to the Monarchs and had signed a Professional Tryout Agreement with Manchester earlier this month. He did not register a point but picked up twelve penalty minutes in three games for the Monarchs during this stint in the AHL. Christiansen was chosen as the Royals' Most Valuable Player last season, when he led the team in goals (35) and points (64) in 63 games for Reading. It is anticipated that Christiansen will be in the Royals' line-up when the team travels to Toledo for a pair of games against the Storm this Friday and Saturday night (7:35 pm). Broadcast time for both games is 7:05 pm and can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1240 am and through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com.
