Fresno Falcons News Release

Fresno, Calif. - In recognition of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Fresno Falcons have announced plans for their inaugural Pink at the Rink with Mark Kay and the Falcons.

Pink at the Rink is set for Saturday, February 3, when the Falcons host the Stockton Thunder at 7:30 p.m. The Falcons will be wearing pink jerseys during the game to be auctioned off following the game to benefit the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation in their work to benefit breast cancer research and support programs to stop domestic violence.

"We are planning on painting the valley pink from Tulare to Modesto," Falcons CEO John Tull said. "The Falcons support all organizations that raise money and awareness for breast cancer research and putting a stop to domestic violence. The Mary Kay Family is supporting this game to benefit their foundation which supports these causes.

"This game will be a celebration for women across the valley," Tull added. "It will be a game to remember those who have passed away of breast cancer, a game to celebrate cancer survivors, and a game to make a statement that domestic violence should not be tolerated. It is fitting that this game is the night before the Super Bowl, as Super Bowl Sunday is traditionally the number one day of the year for domestic-violence related 911 calls by women. We encourage fans across the valley to support the Falcons and the Mark Kay Ash Charitable Foundation for Pink at the Rink on February 3."

The first 3,000 fans in attendance on February 3 will receive a free pink Falcons puck. Local Mary Kay executives will be selling special "Think Pink" ticket packages which include a commemorative Falcons pink mini hockey stick.

The Falcons return home on Friday, November 3, hosting the Phoenix Roadrunners at 7:30 p.m. The first 3,000 fans in attendance receive a Falcons poster schedule courtesy of Dumont Printing, the California Air National Guard 144th Fighter Wing, and Mega 97.9

On Saturday, November 4, the Falcons host the Long Beach Ice Dogs at 8:00 p.m. The Falcons will wear special red, white, and blue jerseys which will be auctioned off following the game to benefit the Central California Veterans Home Support Foundation.

Tickets for all Falcons home games can be purchased at the Save Mart Center Box Office, or through TicketMaster by calling (559) 485-TIXS or by logging on to www.ticketmaster.com.
