Amarillo Dillas News Release

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Dillas and San Angelo Colts played a high quality game one of a doubleheader with the Colts winning 3-0. Game two was not played due to weather. It will be made up as a doubleheader tomorrow.

In game one, Taylor Allen (3-3) got the loss, despite throwing the first six innings scoreless, allowed three runs, one earned in the seventh. Colts starter Brian Herschel (6-3) got the win in throwing his third straight complete game, allowing seven hits and no walks while striking out one.

Game one began with both starters dueling, allowing no runs through the first six innings.

In the seventh, the Colts broke through. Jason Landrith reached on an error, followed by Josh Collazo single. Following a strikeout, Nick Mahin tripled to right-center field to score both base runners. Mahin would come across on a wild pitch for a 3-0 lead.

Amarillo would load the bases with two outs in the bottom half off Henschel, but a pinch-hit Sam McClain flyout to center ended the first game 3-0 in favor of San Angelo.

Game two was set to begin when lightning, thunder and rain called the second game off.

With the loss, the Dillas fall to 24-22, while the Colts improve to 33-13. Thursday, Amarillo will host the first-place Colts for the final two games of a four-game series with the doubleheader set to begin at 6:05pm with Dillas Pre-Game set to begin at 5:55 pm on AudioSportsOnline.net.
