Double honor for Roughnecks goalie

Calgary Roughnecks News Release
Calgary Roughnecks goalie Curtis Palidwor has been named both the Overall Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week in the National Lacrosse League for two outstanding performances last weekend.
Palidwor was between the pipes for a couple of Roughnecks' victories -- 14-7 over Vancouver and a 14-4 thrashing of the Arizona Sting.
He made 44 saves in the Vancouver game, and another 39 stops two days later in Phoenix.
The four goals against is only the eighth time in NLL regular season history that a team has been held to a mere four goals.
Palidwor also held opponents without a goal for a stretch of 62:09 minutes over the course of the two games. The streak started at 12:12 into the third quarter against Vancouver on Friday, and ended when Pat Maddalena scored at 4:21 of the third quarter in Phoenix on Sunday.
This is the second time this season (5th all time) that Palidwor has won Defensive Player of the Week honours, and first time ever he has been named Overall Player of the Week.
"It's a great personal honour," said Palidwor Wednesday. "But in reality it's a tribute to all on the team for the way we played in both games.
"We decided coming into the weekend that we were going to simplify our defence and forget about trying to match up our best players with their best players. We adopted the philosophy that we would play our game and let the opposition worry about what we were doing, rather than the other way around. Obviously, it worked like a dream."
