
Roughnecks Goalie Turns in Record-Tying Performance

Calgary Roughnecks Goaltender Curtis Palidwor was named the Overall Player of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Roughnecks' victories over both Vancouver and Arizona this weekend. Palidwor recorded 44 saves and seven goals against in a 14-7 win over Vancouver on Friday. On Sunday, Palidwor allowed four goals against and recorded 39 saves in the Roughnecks 14-4 win over Arizona. Palidwor's four goals against is only the eighth time in league regular season history that a team was held to four goals in a game. Palidwor also held opponents without a goal for a stretch of sixty-two minutes and nine seconds (62:09) over the course of the two games. The streak started at 2:12 into the third quarter against Vancouver (following a goal by Craig Conn) on Friday and ended 4:21 into the third quarter against Arizona (goal scored by Pat Maddalena) on Sunday. In sum, Palidwor held Vancouver scoreless for the last twelve minutes and forty-eight seconds (12:48) of third quarter and the entire fourth quarter on Friday, and then held Arizona scoreless for the entire first half and the first four minutes and twenty-one seconds (4:21) of the third quarter on Sunday.
Shawn Williams of the Rochester Knighthawks was named the Offensive Player of the Week for Week #10. Williams scored three goals and added five assists for eight points, and collected five loose balls in the Knighthawks 13-12 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bandits. Williams' game winning goal in overtime gave the Knighthawks the win and snapped the Bandits six game winning streak.
Scott Evans of the Rochester Knighthawks was named Rookie of the Week for his performance in the Knighthawks 13-12 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bandits on Saturday. Evans scored three goals and added four assists for seven points and collected five loose balls in the Rochester win.
