SAINT JOHN - The Saint John Sea Dogs are proud to announce goaltender Alex D'Orio and centre Cedric Pare have won team awards for the month of December.

D'Orio, 18, is the Swagelok Student of the Month.

The Sherbrooke-native attends l'Université de Moncton part-time through their distance education program in Business Administration. He showed drive and determination by completing his course with an 81% average and is continuing his program next term.

On the ice, the Pittsburgh Penguins' prospect finished the month with a 4-3 record, a 3.17 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage in seven games.

Pare, also 18, is the Irving Oil Player of the Month.

The centre from Pintendre, Quebec, posted two goals and nine points in 11 games last month. Highlights included a goal and an assist in a 4-3 overtime win over the Moncton Wildcats on December 15th, and three assists in a 4-3 overtime triumph over the Charlottetown Islanders on December 16th. A sixth-round selection (173rd overall) of the Boston Bruins in the 2017 NHL Draft, Pare also sported an impressive 56.7% winning percentage on faceoffs.
