
Donally And Wranglers Sink Stockton In Overtime 5-4, Series Tied 1-1

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers ® edged the Stockton Thunder 5-4 in overtime in Game 2 of the National Conference Quarterfinals on Saturday night in front of 3,653 fans at the Orleans Arena. Left wing Ryan Donally scored the game-winning goal just 28-seconds into overtime to even the best-of-seven series 1-1. Stockton's Brandon Schwartz scored the game-tying goal with 54-seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime. Wranglers forwards Aki Seitsonen, Peter Ferraro, Shawn Limpright and Tyler Mosienko also scored in the post-season victory. Mosienko and Ferraro each added two assists as the Wranglers improved to 3-4 all-time in playoff overtime games. Goalie Kevin Lalande made 17 saves on 21 shots for his first professional playoff victory. Stockton's Tim Boron stopped 41 of 46 Las Vegas shots in the defeat. The same two teams play Game 3 at the Stockton Arena at 6:00 pm on Sunday.
In the first period, Stockton tallied the first goal of the night with a shot by defenseman Tim O"Connell just 3:08 into the contest for a 1-0 Thunder lead. Las Vegas countered with two goals before the end of the first period. Center Aki Seitsonen tied the game 1-1 just 22-seconds later. Less than six minutes later, left wing Shawn Limpright scored his first of the playoffs to lift Las Vegas into the lead at 2-1.
Peter Ferraro expanded the Wranglers lead to 3-1 just 33-seconds into the second period. Thunder forward Brandon Schwartz tallied the first of two goals on the night at 5:09, bringing Stockton to within a goal at 3-2 after two periods of play.
In the third period, the Thunder tied the game 3-3 as Jacob Micflikier scored his first goal of the playoffs at 6:51. The Wranglers answered back at 7:23, center Tyler Mosienko poked in a rebound for his first goal of the playoffs, giving Las Vegas a 4-3 lead. Stockton pulled goalie Tim Boron in favor of an extra skater with just over a minute remaining in the third period. The move paid off, Schwartz redirected a shot in front of the Las Vegas net with 54-seconds remaining, tying the game at four and forcing overtime.
In the extra frame, Las Vegas worked the puck deep in the Stockton zone with Mosienko, Ferraro and Ryan Donally cycling the puck. Mosienko snapped a pass to the far post for Donally, who scored his first professional playoff goal just 28-seconds into the extra frame, lifting Las Vegas to a 5-4 overtime win.
The series shifts to Stockton, CA for Games Three, Four, and Five. Game Three is on Sunday, April 13th at 6:00 pm at the Stockton Arena. After a four-day layoff, the series will resume in Stockton with Game Four on Friday, April 18th at 7:30 pm. If necessary, Game Five will be played on Sunday, April 20th at 4:00 pm. The series will return to the Orleans Arena for Game Six and Seven. If necessary, Game Six would start at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena on Tuesday, April 22nd. If necessary, Game Seven will be on Wednesday, April 23rd at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.
