
Dominant Pitching Locks Down 'Cats Third Straight Win

The Tri-City ValleyCats defeated the Staten Island Yankees 5-1 for their third straight win behind lights-out pitching from Chad Donato, Devin Conn and Luis De Paula.
Donato started the game with five scoreless innings, maintaining his perfect 0.00 ERA and earning his New York-Penn League-best third win of the season.
Conn earned a hold with two hitless innings and Luis De Paula locked down the win with a six-out save.
Oscar Campos led the way for the ValleyCats offensively with three runs batted in, including a two-run double in the ninth inning.
In addition to Campos, both Austin Dennis and Gilberto Celestino picked up two hits apiece on the night.
Now a season-high three games above .500, the ValleyCats have extended their first place lead over the Vermont Lake Monsters to two games.
The ValleyCats will attempt to polish off a sweep of the Yankees tomorrow night at Richmond County Bank Ballpark, with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m.
