Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla - The Binghamton Mets ended their Spring Training schedule on a high note by holding the Jacksonville Suns to one hit and defeating the Double-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins 1-0 today.
Six B-Mets pitchers, led by starter Brandon Moore, teamed up to face one over the minimum in the nine-inning contest. The only blemish was a base hit allowed by Moore during his four innings of work. Roy Merritt, Brad Holt, Ricky Brooks, Rhiner Cruz, and Eric Niesen each contributed a perfect inning.
Brahiam Maldonado provided all the offense the B-Mets would need with a solo homerun.
The B-Mets (8-4-1) will have an intra-organizational game tomorrow against the Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, before traveling north to kick off the 20th season of Binghamton Mets baseball. They will open their year on the road against the Akron Aeros at 7:05pm on Thursday, April 7th.
