April Fools' Day Snow Storm Won't Stop Fisher Cats

Manchester, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, announce that today's April Fools' Day snow storm will not stop the Opening Day game at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium against the Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, on April 7 at 6:35pm.

"You can never really be sure when the snow is going to stop falling in New England, but this April Fools' Day storm will not cause the Fisher Cats to reschedule our Opening Day on April 7," said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. "We have a phenomenal turf manager and we look forward to playing ball next Thursday."

The 2011 Fisher Cats roster will soon be announced, followed by the team's arrival in Manchester on Monday afternoon, signifying the beginning of what promises to be one of the most exciting seasons and opening weekends in team history.

It all begins with Opening Day when the first 1,000 fans who enter the ballpark to watch the Fisher Cats take on the future Yankees in game one of the four-game opening series will receive a free Fisher Cats Fleece Blanket, courtesy of Northeast Delta Dental. Friday night's game on April 8 at 6:35pm will feature a spectacular postgame Atlas Fireworks show for all to enjoy following the final out. Saturday, April 9 at 1:35pm is the first ever All-You-Can-Eat Day, presented by ROCK 101 and the Morning Buzz. With the purchase of a $10 or $12 ticket, every fan in attendance can enjoy all-you-can-eat burgers, hot dogs and nachos for free at the three main concession stands. The first 2,500 fans to enter the ballpark will also be treated to a free Fisher Cats Magnetic Schedule, courtesy of Elliot Urgent Care at River's Edge.

To top it off, USA Subs Baseball Bingo will be available for fans of all ages to play all game long as they watch the ballgame. The weekend continues on Sunday, April 10 at 1:35pm when the first 1,000 children to enter the stadium will receive a free Fisher Cats Kids Jersey, courtesy of POWERADE ION4. After the game, the Fisher Cats will open the gates to the field for the always fun Kids Run the Bases, presented by New Hampshire Division of Liquor Enforcement.

The Reading Phillies are in town for a three game series beginning on Monday, April 11 for a 6:35pm showdown with the Fisher Cats on a USA Subs Baseball Bingo night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. On Tuesday, April 12 at 6:35pm, fans who bring in their KRAFT Singles package wrapper to the Fisher Cats Box Office will receive a special buy one ticket and get one FREE offer, courtesy of the KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets promotion. Plus, Tuesday night's game is also a Dollar Hot DogNight, giving fans the opportunity to enjoy baseball's most popular food for just a buck, all game long!

The season's opening homestand comes to a close on Wednesday, April 13 at 6:35pm with a Chili Cook-Off at the ballpark, pitting the area's best chili recipes against each other on the concourse at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. And, fans will get yet another chance at some great prizes with USA Subs Baseball Bingo making its third appearance during the opening weekend festivities.

After last season's successful run to the Eastern League playoffs, the Fisher Cats will be led onto the award winning diamond at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium by new manager Sal Fasano while wearing their brand new red, white and blue uniforms. The 2011 Fisher Cats roster looks to be loaded with many of the Blue Jays' top prospects who may find themselves participating in the 2011 Northeast Delta Dental Eastern League All-Star Game in Manchester on July 13. Preceding the mid-summer classic will be the HR Concepts Total Access All-Star Block Party at Veteran's Park in downtown Manchester on July 12, open to the public.
