Dolis Named to League Postseason All-Star Team

KODAK, Tenn. - Tennessee Smokies closer Rafael Dolis has been named to the Southern League Postseason All-Star Team Wednesday, as announced by the Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs. Dolis is part of a group of 15 players given the award, which is voted upon by the league's field managers, radio broadcasters and print media.

Dolis, who was also named to the Southern League Midseason All-Star team, has been stellar in his first full season in Double-A. He leads the Smokies in appearances (49) and saves (16), which ranks him fourth in the league. Between July 17 and August 30, Dolis made 17 relief appearances without allowing an earned run to score, a feat spanning 20.2 innings.

The 23-year-old right-hander was signed by the Chicago Cubs as a non-drafted free agent in 2004.
