Chicago Dogs News Release

Kansas City, Kansas. - Seven strong innings from Josh Goossen-Brown and a three-hit effort from Edwin Arroyo lifted the Dogs to a 3-2 victory as Chicago salvaged the finale of a three-game series Sunday afternoon against the Kansas City T-Bones.

The Dogs fell behind the T-Bones for the third consecutive game as Kansas City scored twice on four hits in the bottom of the second. A Keith Curcio double score Alay Lago, and Tucker Pennell drove in Curcio with an RBI single.

The inning could have been worse for Goossen-Brown were it not for an inning-ending double play with the bases loaded, hit into by Noah Perio Jr. The Dogs right-hander allowed five hits and walked two batters in his first two innings, but settled in from the second inning on.

Goossen-Brown allowed only three more base runners in his final five innings on the mound, and the Dogs bats began to back him in the top of the fourth.

Joe Benson scored Arroyo with an RBI single in the fourth. Arroyo then scored Mike Falsetti with an RBI single of his own to cap a two-out Dogs rally in the fifth inning. In the sixth inning Matt Dean scored Rubi Silva from second base with a two-out RBI single.

Chicago received a scoreless eighth inning from Chad Girodo, before Taylor Grover locked down his fifth save of the year in the ninth. Grover allowed a pair of two-out singles in the frame but Dylan Tice flew out to shallow right field to end the game.

Goossen-Brown earned the win, his fifth of the season. Arroyo extended his hitting streak to six games, and is 13-27 during the stretch. Silva also extended his hitting streak to ten games, as he now has a hit in all but one of the 14 games he's played in a Dogs uniform.

With the victory, Chicago moves to 26-40 on the year, while the T-Bones fall to 43-23 with the loss.

The Dogs will now host the Wichita Wingnuts for four games, beginning Monday at Impact Field.

Ticket to the series are available in line at the Impact Field Ticket Office and online at www.thechicagodogs.com/tickets/
