AirHogs Prep for RailCats After Tough St. Paul Finale

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Texas AirHogs dropped the finale of the three-game set to the St. Paul Saints 13-2 Sunday at CHS Field. The AirHogs will return home for an off day tomorrow and a six-game homestand vs. Gary SouthShore and Sioux City starting Tuesday.

The Saints jumped on Texas starter Gan Quan (0-6) for five hits and seven runs early. Gan exited the game in the second after surrendering five walks. Liu Yu, Ran Song, Qi Xin, Lu Yusong and Sean Stutzman completed the game on the mound for the AirHogs. Lu and Stutzman both posted scoreless frames.

Matt Solter (2-4) picked up the win by going seven and scattering ten hits. He allowed two runs (one earned) while striking out five and walking two. The Saints (37-29) were paced by Burt Reynolds and Max Murphy, who both went deep. Murphy finished with three hits, and the home team outhit Texas 15-11.

Stewart Ijames accounted for both of the RBIs in the game for the AirHogs. He, Chu Fujia and Du Xiaolei all finished with two hits.

The AirHogs (18-48) return home tomorrow and will begin a series vs. Gary SouthShore (38-27) Tuesday at 7:05. Starters for both teams are TBA. A live stream of the game will be available at americanassociationbaseball.tv and mixlr.com/TXAirHogs.
