
"Dogja Vu" All over Again as RedHawks Beat Chicago 17-5 for Second Time in 2021

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks, one night after an 11-0 shutout win, built on their momentum and beat the Chicago Dogs 17-5 in front of 2,698 fans at Newman Outdoor Field Tuesday night. The RedHawks scored nine runs in the first two innings and set a season high with 21 hits in the win. Gage Hinsz only allowed two runs despite giving up 11 hits to earn his third win of the season. The RedHawks are now 5-3 against Chicago this season and 20-13 overall.
Correlle Prime, who came into the game batting .464/.516/.764 in his seven games against the Dogs, was 4-for-6 with two runs, a three-run home run, and five RBIs in the game. It was Prime's second 5-RBI game of the season. Six RedHawks batters, including Prime, had at least two hits, an RBI, and a run in the win. John Silviano hit a three-run home run in the second inning as the home run was Silviano's first since June 4th. He still leads the RedHawks in home runs (7) despite the 17-game drought. Will Zimmerman was 2-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base, two walks, a hit-by-pitch, and four runs on Tuesday night.
Hinsz, who is now 3-2 with a 5.82 ERA, started his third game of the season against Chicago. He gave up 11 hits and two walks but left 10 Dogs on base in his 5.0 innings pitched. Mark Finkelnburg made his fifth relief appearance of the season in the sixth inning and gave up two runs on two hits in his 2.0 innings pitched. Austin Ver Steeg and Austin DuBord each pitched one inning to finish out the game.
Chicago starter Jordan Kipper only went 1.1 innings and got his second loss of the season after allowing nine runs on 11 hits. The Dogs used five pitchers in relief, as the pitching staff combined to strike out only five batters in the game. Juan Echevarria and Justin Goossen-Brown were the only other Chicago pitchers to give up runs in the game.
The RedHawks and Dogs will conclude their series with a 7:02 p.m. game Wednesday night at Newman Outdoor Field. The RedHawks will start RHP Logan Nissen (1-2, 5.57 ERA) against the Dogs RHP Garrett Christman (2-2, 7.57 ERA).
