Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Mar. 3 - The Sioux Falls Skyforce nearly overcame an 11-point fourth quarter deficit Tuesday night, but the Iowa Energy managed to hang on and defeated the Skyforce 100-95 at the Sioux Falls Arena.

The Skyforce (19-17) outscored the Energy 27-21 in the fourth quarter and had the ball at 98-95 with eight seconds left on the clock before Frank Williams missed a 3-pointer to tie the game. Iowa's Curtis Stinson was fouled and sank both of his free throws to seal the win.

Five Iowa players scored in the double-digits with Othyus Jeffers posting a game-high 28 points and 12 rebounds. The Energy (21-12) is currently leading the Central Division, with the Skyforce in third and trailing by 3.5 games.

"Everybody is closing in our division right now, trying to make this a race between four teams," Energy head coach Nick Nurse said. "Last week the Skyforce really put it to us so it was nice to bounce back and get the win tonight."

Demetris Nichols scored 20 points for the Energy while Courtney Sims recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Stinson had a well-rounded night scoring 16 points, pulling down 10 rebounds and dishing out five assists.

Leading the Skyforce was Kasib Powell with 23 points. David Bailey added 22 points while Bobby Jones contributed 15.

The Central Division foes will square off again on Thursday at the Sioux Falls Arena. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. CT.
