San Angelo Colts News Release

Amarillo, TX---After winning big the previous night the Colts tried for the split on Thursday night in game four the final game of the series against Amarillo. It would be disappointing for the Colts though as they would rally in the ninth to tie it, only to lose in walk off fashion in the bottom of the ninth 6-5.

Colts scored in the first after an error by Dillas third baseman Andrew Wong allowed Ronnie Gaines to go all way to second and was driven home on an RBI single by Jason Crosland to lead 1-0. Amarillo however scored four times in the bottom of the second on an RBI double by Rob Recuenco, an RBI groundout by Brian Bueno, and an RBI double that drove home two by Joaquin Rodriguez that made it 4-1 Amarillo. The Colts put a run on the board in the top of the fourth on a sac fly RBI by Trey Carter to cut it to 4-2. In the sixth David Cardona would bring the Colts to within one on his first homerun of the year for San Angelo and it was a one run game at 4-3.

The score would remain the same until the bottom of the eighth when the Dillas added a run on a Ronnie Gaines error and it was 5-3 Dillas. The leagues save leader Ramon Geronimo would come to try to seal it for Amarillo but the Colts would rally loading the bases in the top of the ninth. With two away Ronnie Gaines would make up for his error with a clutch single that drove in two to tie it at 5-5. It would end in disappointing fashion for the Colts though as a bases loaded wild pitch in the ninth by Matt Carter would allow Adam De La Garza to score and the Colts would lose by a final of 6-5, dropping three of four to the Dillas.

On Friday the Colts return home to take on the front running Edinburg Roadrunners in game one of a four game set. San Angelo sends out righty Chandler Barnard (4-2, 3.95) against a pitcher yet to be announced for Edinburg. It all begins with the Kemps pre-game show beginning at 6:50 with the first pitch
