Odessa Jackalopes News Release
(Rapid City, SD) - Odessa's Dave Van Drunen appeared to score the game-tying goal with two minutes remaining in the third period, but it was disallowed for goalie interference to give the Rapid City Rush a 7-5 win over the Jackalopes on Friday night at the Rushmore Civic Center. There was no penalty handed out on the play for interference when Van Drunen appeared to score.
Rapid City trailed the Jacks 5-2 with twelve minutes remaining in the second period before scoring five unanswered goals to complete the comeback win.
Rich Hansen, Derek LeBlanc, Brendon Hodge, and Colt King all scored in the third period for Rapid City to complete the comeback. King's was an empty net goal.
Jean Bourbeau and Sebastien Thinel opened the game's scoring with the only goals of the first period. Bourbeau lifted a slap shot from the center of the blue line at 17:50 for his 12th of the season. Thinel then added a power play goal at 19:04 on a rebound in front of the net to make it a 2-0 lead favoring Odessa.
Both offenses came alive in period two as both teams scored six goals combined. Dominic Leveille, Collin Circelli, and Jeff Pierce all scored power play goals while Hansen and Blaine Jarvis answered with shorthanded markers to make the score 5-2. Les Reaney then added an even strength goal at 16:31 to cut Odessa's lead to 5-3 after forty minutes of play.

The Jackalopes Sebastien Thinel extended his point streak to seven games with his first period goal. This is just the second loss of the season for Odessa when leading after two periods of play.
