Dirt Dawgs sweep doubleheader

LEOMINSTER, Mass - The Dirt Dawgs earned their first multiple game win streak of the season after sweeping the doubleheader against the Seacoast Mavericks.

The Dirt Dawgs won the first game 4-2. The game was highlighted by Ben White (Holy Cross) who went five innings while striking out seven. He only gave up two runs and managed to get his first win of the season. Austin Botts (Lock Haven) also had his second home run of the year. Michael Rizzitello (Dowling) had an RBI triple in the fourth inning which proved to score the game winning run.

Alex Merritt (North Florida) and Michael Mastroberti (SNHU) each had solo home runs in the first game for the Mavericks.

The Dirt Dawgs won the second game in walk off fashion thanks to Kurtis White's (Franklin Pierce) RBI double. Mike Corin (URI) hit his league leading fifth home run of the season and added two more RBIs.

Dalton Davis (San Jacinto) and Zach Rhodes (Birmingham Southern) each had home runs in the second game for Seacoast Davis hit a solo home run and Rhodes had a three run home run.

The Dirt Dawgs will travel to Pittsfield on June 20th to take on the Suns. Connor Smith (College of New Jersey) will get the ball for the Dirt Dawgs.
