Amarillo Dillas News Release
AMARILLO, TX - Friday, June 19th will mark the fourth consecutive year that the Dillas will "Salute the Troops" when they pay special homage to the men and women who proudly serve the branches within the United States Military. The festivities of the evening will start with a special performance, of the National Anthem, by Christian music group Shiloh. While their musical roots are in southern gospel music, this Texas based group has developed a very unique and identifiable modern sound that combines inspirational, praise and worship, progressive southern gospel, and CCM. Shiloh's trademark sound is derived from their extraordinary musical arrangements, closely-knit harmonies, and powerful and distinctive vocals with a special Texas flare. With over 14 years behind them and a national and international touring schedule, Shiloh has the opportunity of ministering in excess of 175 dates per year. The Men and women of the Armed Forces serve the United States without prejudice or bias and their efforts have not gone unnoticed and the Dillas want to do their part ensuring these individuals are not forgotten. The Amarillo Dillas Baseball Club announced today, that as part of the organization's commitment to community involvement they will continue to offer active and retired military personnel free admission to Dillas home games.
"We (Dillas) are committed to Amarillo and the communities surrounding the Texas panhandle", Dillas General Manager Mark Lee said. "Extending this invitation to the men and women who have and are currently risking their lives so that we can enjoy our freedom, is extremely important to me and to this organization".
Retired and active armed forces personnel, who bring their Military identification to any of the Dillas 44 regular season home games, will receive four General Admission tickets, compliments of the Amarillo Dillas in honor of their commitment and dedication.
The Dillas continue their first home stand of the season when they play the WhiteWings of the Rio Grande Valley tonight at the Amarillo National Bank Dilla Villa. Tonight's game officially kicks-off the first TwoDollar Tuesday of the season. The promotion includes Club Level and General Admission tickets, select concession menu items and 12 ounce draught beer for just $2.
