
Colts Lose Second Straight

SAN ANGELO---The San Angelo Colts lost it's second straight game as the squad fell 6-5, to the Laredo Broncos.
With runners on the corners and one man out in the tenth, O.J. Garza hit the game winning single against losing pitcher, Jameson Maj . Laredo earned it's first victory in 2009 after being swept by Edinburg in the opening series.
The Colts allowed Broncos starter, Tano Tijerina, to escape bases loaded situations in the first three innings. With one out in each of those frames, San Angelo grounded into three double plays to end the threats.
Ezequiel Astacio made his first start for San Angelo. The former Houston Astro delivered four innings of three run ball while striking out four.
Jason Landreth collected his first multi-hit game of the season including his first home run of the year.
Before the Colts lost in extra innings, San Angelo was down two when Landreth connected on a double to tie the game in the ninth.
Brian Henschel goes to the mound against Laredo tonight. On opening day, the right-handed starter had a solid outing. Henschel delivered six innings while allowing no earned runs. Game time is set for 7:35 PM.
