
Dillas comeback from down 7-2, but fall 10-7 to Colts

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Dillas scored five runs in the seventh inning to tie Saturday night's game but the score wouldn't hold as the San Angelo Colts came back and defeated the Dillas 10-7 at the Amarillo National Dilla Villa in front of 3,271.
Dillas reliever Drew Jackson (4-3) got the loss in two innings of work and gave up three runs and three hits. Colts reliever Taylor Fleming (3-1) got the win in an inning and a third of work as he allowed no hits and a strikeout. San Angelo closer Chase Vacek saved his second straight game as he allowed a hit but didn't allow a run in the ninth.
The Colts took a first inning lead as Jason Crosland singled home Ronnie Gaines to take a one-run lead. The Dillas would strike back as Jonathan Reynoso scored on a Carlos Figueroa single to tie the game in the first. They would take the lead as Brett Donahoo scored on a Josh Ashton single to give the Dillas a 2-1 advantage.
San Angelo took the lead with two runs in the third, one in the fifth and three in the seventh to move up 7-2.
In the bottom of the seventh, after Gary Schneidmiller singled home Justin Wenger and Carlos Figueroa, Donahoo and Schneidmiller scored on errors while Jack Chapman scored on a bases loaded hit by pitch to tie the game 7-7.
Jackson came in for the eighth, but allowed a bases loaded double by Madison Edwards to move the Colts up 10-7. Amarillo came up in the ninth against Vacek, had a hit but couldn't score as the Dillas fell 10-7.
With the loss, the Dillas fall to 13-12 on the second-half of the season and 39-36 overall. Sunday, the Dillas will take on the Colts for the third game of a three-game series at 6:05 pm with Dillas Pre-Game set to begin at 5:50 pm on 1010 AM The Canyon and online via AudioSportsOnline.com. Game time is tentative and is subject to blackout.
