DiFlorio Added to All-Star Team

Harrisburg, PA - Harrisburg Heat forward Gino DiFlorio has been added as a Commissioner's Selection to the Eastern Conference Team for the 2003 MISL All-Star Game, Commissioner Steve Ryan announced on Friday. The All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, March 9, at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Kickoff is 1:30 p.m. Central Time. The game will be televised on FOX Sports World on Friday, March 21, from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. Eastern.

DiFlorio has registered 7 goals and 22 points in 18 games overall this season. The 38-year-old returned to the Heat in a January 30 trade with the Baltimore Blast, with whom he had signed as a free agent over the offseason.. From 1998-2002, DiFlorio scored 522 points in 122 games with the Heat, and ranks fifth on the team's all-time list in points, second in assists (175), fifth in total goals (179), third in 3pgs (23). The native of Naples, Italy, ranks third in League history with 1,623 points, sixth with 444 assists, and second with 619 goals.

A six-time All-Star and eight time All-League selection, DiFlorio was named the League's 2000-01 Most Valuable Player after a 51-goal, 142-point campaign. He holds Heat single-season records for points (214) and assists (72), and crafted a franchise-record 67-game scoring streak from March 25, 1999 thru February 10, 2001.

DiFlorio, who has missed the Heat's last three games with a hamstring pull, may return to action this weekend as Harrisburg heads to Cleveland to face the Force (tonight, 7:35 p.m.) and travels to Philadelphia to take on the first-place KiXX (1:05 p.m., televised live on CN8).

Veteran Milwaukee Wave forward Brian Loftin was also added to the Western Conference team as a Commissioner's Selection.
