Harrisburg Heat News Release
The Heat won its only game of the week, defeating the San Diego Sockers 15-13 on Saturday night at San Diego Sports Arena. With the win, Harrisburg swept the season series with San Diego 5-0. The Heat, however, was eliminated from playoff contention due to Baltimore's 16-11 win in Kansas City on Saturday. The club will miss the postseason for the second straight year.
Harrisburg built a 15-9 lead through three quarters and held on for the win despite allowing two unanswered goals in the fourth. Ato Leone scored three 2pgs for six points against the Sockers, David Bascome added five points (3pg, 2pg), and Marco Coria assisted on two goals. Chris Damico recorded 16 saves in goal, getting the victory.

The Heat will conclude its 2002-03 season this weekend with a pair of home games, as the Cleveland Force (Saturday, 7:35 p.m.) and Kansas City Comets (Sunday, 6:05 p.m.) visit the Farm Show Arena.
Harrisburg is 2-3 this season against the Force. Cleveland downed Harrisburg 16-8 in the last meeting between the teams, on February 21 in Cleveland. The Heat is 1-3 against the Comets in '02-03, having most recently defeated K.C. 13-6 at Kemper Arena on February 8.

ODDS AND ENDS:
- Ato Leone has scored 51 points over his last 16 games, an average of 3.2 points per game.
- Genoni Martinez remains the highest-scoring defender in the League with 75 points (11th overall), and leads the MISL with 81 blocks. He has already set a new Heat single-season record in rejections.
- David Bascome needs only one more block to pass Richard Chinapoo and become the Heat's all-time leader in that category.
- Bascome also needs two goals this weekend for the sixth 40-goal season of his career, and fifth in the last six years.
- Chris Morman needs four blocks to register his third straight season of 50 or more blocks.
