The Heat wrapped up its 2002-03 season with a perfect 2-0 weekend at the Farm Show Arena, defeating the Cleveland Force 18-8 on Saturday night and downing the Kansas City Comets 24-20 on Sunday. Saturday's game drew a crowd of 5,991, the team's largest of the season. Harrisburg fell behind 6-0 early against the Force but ended the game on a 16-2 run to capture the win. The 24 points scored by the Heat against the Comets were the most scored by the team this season, and the most since December 30, 2000.
Marco Coria scored 10 points (two 2pgs, six assists) over the weekend. Ato Leone (four 2pgs, assist, nine points), Nikola Vignjevic (3pg, 2pg, three assists, eight points), and Ze Roberto (3pg, 2pg, three assists, seven points) also enjoyed highly productive weekends. Raul Salas was credited with the win in both contests, finishing with 27 saves on 40 shots.

2002-03 WRAP-UP:
- Genoni Martinez was named the Eichelberger's Heat Player of the Year prior to Sunday night's game against the Comets. Martinez recorded the best all-around statistical season ever posted by a Heat defender, with 26 goals, 77 points, and a team record 88 blocks in 35 games. The 27-year-old Mexican enters the postseason as a bona fide Defender of the Year candidate.
- David Bascome led the team in scoring for the second straight season with 90 points. The 33-year-old forward led the MISL with 15 power play goals and also ranked among the League leaders in total goals (40 - 3rd) and 2pgs (38 - 2nd).
- Bascome became the Heat's all-time leader in blocks on Saturday night; he has now blocked 343 shots in a Harrisburg uniform. He is also the franchise's all-time leader in games played (350), 3pgs (43), 2pgs (284), total goals (374), points (911), shots (1,398), and game-winning goals (24).
- Ato Leone ended the season by scoring 63 points (23 goals, 18 assists) over his final 21 games.
- Nikola Vignjevic finished the campaign on a nine-game scoring streak, and scored 22 points in ten games with the Heat after being acquired from Kansas City on January 31. He scored 17 points in his first 14 games with the Comets.
- Harrisburg went 9-9 over the first half of the season, and 6-12 after the midway point.
- The '02-03 Heat was 11-8 against teams entering a contest with records below .500, and 4-13 against teams with marks over .500 entering the game.
- Harrisburg was 5-17 when trailing at halftime and 4-17 when trailing after three quarters. Conversely, the Heat was 9-3 when leading at intermission and 10-1 when holding an advantage after three quarters.
- The Heat's all-time record is now 241-243 (.498 winning percentage). The club is 146-96 (.603) at the Farm Show Arena, and 95-147 (.393) on the road.
- The 2003 MISL Playoffs will commence this Friday, March 28, when the Baltimore Blast travels to Cleveland to take on the Force in a single elimination Eastern Conference match-up. Game time at The Convo is 7:35 p.m. Eastern. The winner will advance to the First Union Spectrum to take on the Philadelphia KiXX on Thursday, April 3, at 7:05 p.m. Eastern.
- The Western Conference's first round game will take place on Wednesday, April 2, when the Kansas City Comets host the San Diego Sockers. The winner of that contest will face the Milwaukee Wave on Sunday, April 6, at the Bradley Center (1:05 p.m. Central).
