Sockers Add Two To Roster
February 21, 2003 - Major Indoor Soccer League 2 (MISL 2)
San Diego Sockers News Release
The San Diego Sockers announced two additions to the roster, including one familiar face. Zach Scott, a defender on loan from the Seattle Sounders, and Riley Swift, a goalkeeper who started the season with the team, will finish the rest of the 2002-03 season with the Sockers.
Prior to joining the Sockers, Scott played seven games with the Cleveland Force, scored one goal and registered seven blocks. A native of Hawaii, he spent his college years at Gonzaga University.
Swift saw limited action with the team this season and spent the 2002 season as a backup to then starter, DJ Horvath. Horvath is currently suspended after violating team rules.
The Sockers return to action when they take on the Kansas City Comets at the San Diego Sports Arena on Friday, Feb. 28. The game starts at 7 p.m., but fans are encouraged to arrive early. The first 5,000 fans will receive a free size-five soccer ball, courtesy of Locust.
