El Paso Diablos News Release

El Paso, TX- With a critical game two in hand the Diablos came up with a huge win beating the Grand Prairie AirHogs 5-2, and tie the series at 1-1.

After a shaky first inning the Diablos settled in nicely throughout the game, starting pitcher Kevin Cooper got his first win of the season going 5.0 innings, only giving up two runs, on five hits with one strikeout.

The Diablos took the lead early on in the fourth inning, scoring two runs, third baseman Devin Thaut was brilliant once again collecting his second four hit game as a Diablo. After two more one run innings by the Diablos, it was a commanding 5-2 lead going into the seventh inning, the Diablos relief pitching stayed strong and closed out the game, and sealed another win for El Paso. What was even more impressive was the Diablos offense over Grand Prairie's Josh Strawn, who happens to be one of the Independent league's premier pitchers.

The Diablos are now 12-38 this season, with two more game against Grand Prairie in their four game series; the Diablos play tomorrow night, 7:05 here at Cohen Stadium!
