Diablos lose a nail biter to the Amarillo Sox 11-8

El Paso, TX- Another close defeat leaves the Diablos still searching for their first win of the season.

The Diablos started strong, thanks to three shutout innings by starting pitcher Luis Chirinos. Contrary to the first three innings, the fourth inning was an offensive explosion for both teams, in which the Sox took the lead 4-3.

In the fifth inning, the Sox scored two runs to extend their lead to three, but the Diablos came back with a strong sixth inning, scoring five runs to take a 8-6 lead.

On the brink of their first win of the season, the Diablos give up five runs in the eighth inning, and eventually fell 11-8 to the Amarillo Sox.

The Diablos are now 0-2, with two more games left against the Amarillo Sox, in a four game series. The Diablos play the Amarillo Sox tomorrow night, 7:05 at Cohen Stadium.
