El Paso Diablos News Release

El Paso, TX- In a critical game two that could decide the winner and loser of the series, both teams combined for 22 runs, most of them coming from the Diablos as they pummeled the SaltDogs 17-5, and win the series!

After the first three innings of play the Diablos had a commanding 8-0 lead, the Diablos were just as good on defense as they were on offense, starting pitcher Justin Kuks was solid through the first six innings only giving up two runs with three strikeouts.

In the fifth inning the Saltdogs finally scored their first run of the game, but by the end of the sixth inning the Diablos had a commanding 17-2 lead with the game all but done.

In the end the Diablos won 17-5 with little to no resistance from the Saltdogs, it was another display of great offense from the Diablos as they scored 17 runs on 20 hits, seven Diablos had a RBI, seven Diablos had multi-hit games, and 8 Diablos drove in at least one run. Once again shortstop Maikol Gonzalez was terrific as he was recently named Hitter of the Week for the second time this season, he contributed three RBI and two runs, but the biggest contributor was Rodrigo Aguirre who went 4 for 5 with 5 RBI.

The Diablos are 36-53 this season as they beat the Lincoln Saltdogs once again, the Diablos will go for the sweep tomorrow night, the game starts at 7:05 here at Cohen Stadium!
