Wichita 18, Gary SouthShore 5

The Wingnuts may have tallied 23 hits in an 18-5 win over Gary SouthShore, but nobody had a night like C.J. Ziegler. The first baseman hit for the cycle and led Wichita with four RBI in a 4-for-6 night.

Ziegler got the hardest parts of the cycle out of the way early. The first baseman homered in the first inning and tripled in his second at-bat, two innings later. Ziegler reached on an error in the fourth grounded out in the sixth, and walked to lead off the seventh. But, he got another shot at the plate later in the seventh. After Wichita batted around, Ziegler hit a double to left field. Ziegler had only one opportunity left to seal the cycle when he stepped up in the ninth and he came through with a single.

Grand Prairie 2, Amarillo 0

In his first game in an AirHogs uniform, starting pitcher Aaron Wilkerson stole the show. The right-hander one-hit the Sox over 7.2 innings, holding his opponents off the scoreboard and securing a 2-0 win. Wilkerson held a no-hitter through 7.1 before KC Serna broke up the no-no bid with a double.

Patrick Mincey came in to record the final four outs and record the save. Grand Prairie scored the only runs of the game on a homer by Andres Rodriguez in the seventh and a fielder's choice by Brandon Pinckney in the eighth.

Sioux Falls 7, Fargo-Moorhead 6

Sioux Falls may have gone down early, but the Canaries never gave up. They chipped away at a six-run deficit and were finally rewarded in the bottom of the ninth when Reggie Abercrombie belted a three-run walk-off home run to give Sioux Falls a 7-6 win.

The RedHawks held a 6-0 lead after four innings, striking for a quick two-run home run in the first off the bat of Nic Jackson, a Ronnie Bourquin three-run double in the second and a Bourquin single in the fourth. But, the Canaries began their comeback in fifth. Sioux Falls registered one run in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth innings to trim the deficit to two runs. In the ninth inning, Abercrombie completed the dramatic night by going deep with one out and two runners on.

Winnipeg 7, St. Paul 0

With his first nine-inning complete game of the season Matt Rusch helped Winnipeg defeat St. Paul, 7-0. The Goldeyes' starter was spectacular, striking out nine and yielding just three hits and one walk in the shutout performance.

Winnipeg gave Rusch plenty of support in the second inning. A five-run frame included RBI singles by Josh Mazzola, Casey Haerther and Fehlandt Lentini, as well as a sacrifice fly by Tyler Graham and an RBI fielder's choice from Luis Alen. The Goldeyes went on to tack on two more runs, giving Rusch enough cushion in his best outing of the year.

Laredo 5, Sioux City 0

Lemurs starter Justin Garcia and shortstop Jimmy Mojica drove the ship in a 5-0 victory over Sioux City. The right-hander tossed a complete game shutout and only gave up four hits, while the shortstop provided the power.

Mojica gave Garcia an early lift when he homered to lead off the bottom of the first inning, but Mojica was not finished. Two innings later, Mojica started off another inning with a bang. His second home run of the game came at the start of the third. Mike Provencher supplied two of Laredo's other runs with a double and a sacrifice fly. Stephen Douglas later added insurance with a solo homer in the eighth.

Rockland 3, Kansas City 1

A brilliant pitching performance by Pat Moran enabled Rockland to come out on top, 3-1, in an interleague battle against Kansas City. Moran hurled eight innings, allowing one run on seven hits to stonewall the T-Bones.

Rockland 1B Carlos Rivera opened the scoring with a home run to lead off the fourth. In the eighth, Donnie Webb provided the Boulders with some much-needed insurance. His single scored a pair of runners and turned out to be the deciding blow of the game after Kansas City tallied a run on a Joey Gathright single in the bottom of the inning.

El Paso 17, Lincoln 5 (In progress - Bottom 7th)

The game between the El Paso Diablos and Lincoln Saltdogs is still in progress, with El Paso leading Lincoln, 17-5, in the bottom of the seventh inning.
