Explorers Drop Second Straight To Laredo

Laredo, TX-----The Sioux City Explorers dropped their second straight game to Laredo here Wednesday 5-0. Laredo righthander Justin Garcia shutout the Explorers on four hits earning his first victory for the Lemurs since joining the team two weeks ago. It was the tenth time this season the Explorers have been shutout as the X's lost their fourth straight contest.

The Explorers only threatened once and that was in the sixth inning when the X's loaded the bases with one out on two hits and a walk, but failed to score.

Laredo's Jimmy Mojica hit two solo home runs, once in the first and the second in the third inning, leading off the respective innings. Stephen Douglas also hit a solo home runs for the Lemurs. It was the fourth time this season that the Explorers had given up three home runs in one game.

Cody Hall, making his first start for the Explorers pitched seven innings and took the loss.

The final game of the three-game series with Laredo will be Thursday in Laredo with game time set for 7:40pm.
