SHELTON, Conn. - Jon DiSalvatore's two-goal game was not enough as the Lowell Devils fell to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in their preseason finale by the score of 4-3.

The Sound Tigers got on the board first, just past the mid-point of the opening period, when Travis Fuller sent a quick pass to Jarrett Konkle at the back post for a one-timer past Scott Clemmensen. About three minutes later, the Devils would tie the score on the strength of Brad Mills' first goal of the preseason. DiSalvatore would then give Lowell its first lead of the contest a mere 33 seconds later and make the score 2-1.

At 6:15 the second frame Bridgeport would even the score at two when Jon Gleed wristed a shot through traffic that squirted through Clemmensen. Vladimir Nikiforov would put the Sound Tigers back on top two minutes later with a power play goal on a one-timed slapshot off from the far circle. Lowell would counter with about six minutes remaining in the period when DiSalvatore banged in a loose puck past Peter Mannino for his second goal of the game.

Jesse Joensuu would once again give the Sound Tigers the one goal lead when he redirected a shot by Nikiforov to make the score 4-3 heading into the third period.

Lowell was 1-for-4 on the power play and 4-for-5 on the penalty-kill.

The Lowell Devils' home opener is Saturday, October 11th, as they host the Worcester Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Individual tickets and season ticket packages are on sale now for the 2008-09 season.
