
Amerks Trim Roster By Ten

Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that the following players have been reassigned or released by the team: goaltender David Shantz, forward Danick Bouchard, forward Kevin Cooper, forward Ryan Smyth, forward Tyler Donati, forward Benoit Doucet, forward Ryan Davis, forward Mark Johnson, defenseman Dominic D'Amour and defenseman Ryan-James Hand.
Shantz has been reassigned to the Florida Everblades while Bouchard was released to the team. Donati and Doucet are to return to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL, while D'Amour and Smyth are making their way to the Dayton Bombers.
The Amerks will open their 53rd AHL season on Friday, October 10th at 7:35 p.m. against the Syracuse Crunch at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. Rochester enters the season as the sole affiliate of the National Hockey League's Florida Panthers. The Amerks announced a three-year deal with the Panthers on June 19, 2008.
