Albany Devils News Release

HERSHEY, PA -- Despite owning a 35-22 shot advantage, the Albany Devils couldn't solve Hershey Bears goaltender Braden Holtby Saturday at Giant Center. The Devils, who were coming off a 5-1 win against the Adirondack Phantoms Friday, couldn't secure their second win in as many nights, falling to the Bears, 3-0.

The loss moves Albany to 2-4-0-0, while the win improves the Bears to 2-3-1-0.

Holtby posted his first shutout and his first win of the season. At the other end, Keith Kinkaid turned aside 19 shots in his third appearance.

The Bears received goals from Zach Hamill, Jeff Taffe and Tomas Kundratek. Hamel scored from Ryan Stoa and Kundratek at 17:10 of the first period and Taffe scored from Garrett Stafford and Kundratek at 5:28 of the second. That goal came on the power play.

Kundratek finished his night with an empty-net tally, giving him a three-point night.

The Devils finished 0-for-2 with the man advantage, while the Bears went 1-for-7.

Albany returns to action Friday against the New York Rangers affiliate, the Connecticut Whale, at 7 pm at the Times Union Center.
