Albany Devils News Release

WORCESTER, MA. - Derek Joslin's goal at 2:58 of the third period ended the Devils' 5-game win streak and sent Lowell to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Worcester Sharks on Sunday afternoon at the DCU center.

After a scoreless first period, the Sharks would notch the game's first tally at the 6:44 mark of the second stanza. Jamie McGinn would put the home team up 1-0 when he cashed in a rebound following a slap shot from the point by teammate Mike Moore. McGinn's marker, which came on the power play, was Worcester's first goal on the man-advantage in their past four games.

The Devils would strike back on a power play of their own just over one minute into the third period. Nicklas Bergfors and Chad Wiseman - fresh off three-point games Saturday night in Portland - would combine to tie the score. Skating 5-on-4, Bergfors would send a wrist shot toward Worcester G Taylor Dakers, but Wiseman - stationed at the near post - would deflect it past the Sharks netminder to knot the score at 1 goal apiece.

The Sharks would score the eventual game-winner less than two minutes later, however, when Derek Joslin skated into the Devils zone, pounced on a rebound, and buried it past a sprawling Dave Caruso. The Worcester lead would hold, despite three Lowell power plays during the final frame. The Devils finished 1-for-6 on the man-advantage, and 4-of-5 on the penalty kill. Dave Caruso made 22 saves in the loss, which ended the Devils' season-high 5-game winning streak.
