B-Sens Spoil Dogs Game in Montreal with 5-3 Win

Montreal, QC - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated 5-3 by the Binghamton Senators for the second straight game. In front of 14,446 fans at the Bell Centre, Binghamton's special teams clicked, as they scored four power-play goals.

The B-Sens opened the game's scoring while on the power play at 12:14 of the first frame. Denis Hamel gathered the puck at the top of the right circle before snapping a shot over the glove of Hamilton starting goaltender Marc Denis.

Yannick Weber recorded two goals one minute and eight seconds apart in the second stanza to give Hamilton a 2-1 lead. Weber earned a power-play marker at 1:24 when Kyle Chipchura sent a pass to Weber, who one-timed the puck into the top corner of the net. Yanick Lehoux also earned an assist on the play. Weber earned his second goal after he blasted a slapshot over the blocker of Binghamton starting goaltender Brian Elliott.

Binghamton regained their lead with two goals in the second stanza. Derek Smith fired a shot towards the net that was redirected off the foot of Danny Bois and past Denis at 6:54. Josh Hennessy hammered a shot that bounced off the back boards and onto the stick of Mattias Karlsson. Karlsson caught Denis in transition and shot the puck into the net at 17:36 to make the game 3-2.

36 seconds into the final frame, the Senators scored their fourth goal. Ilya Zubov received the puck and blasted a slap shot on the net that sailed past Denis. Karlsson and Smith earned assists on the play.

Max Pacioretty added a goal at 14:09 of the final frame when he beat a Binghamton defender and backhanded the puck past Elliott to bring the ‘Dogs to within one goal. The B-Sens sealed the win with a goal at 15:23 when Karlsson slid the puck over to Hennessy, who fired a one-timer into the net and made the game 5-3.
