BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Playing their third game in three days, the Lowell Devils saw the Bridgeport Sound Tigers pull away for a 4-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at the Arena at Harbor Yard. Trevor Smith figured in three of Bridegport's four goals, notching two markers and an assist.

The Sound Tigers outshot the Devils, 13-5, in the opening period and owned a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission. Mark Wotton sent a snapshot from the near circle that goaltender Jeff Frazee blocked aside, but Smith swept through to bury the rebound at 9:01.

After the second period went without a goal, Bridgeport pushed their lead to two in the third on a faceoff win by Jeremy Colliton. Smith went down below the goal line to pick up the loose puck and found Colliton where he won the draw for a one-timer that hit the top corner at 4:34.

Smith then put the game out of reach with 3:51 remaining in the third, tipping in Brett Skinner's point shot for a power play goal that made it 3-0.

Tomas Marcinko completed the scoring at 18:55 on the man-advantage, when he forced the puck away from Frazee behind the net and dumped it across the goal line.

Sound Tigers goalie Nathan Lawson stopped all 18 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season. Frazee made 27 saves as the Devils' winless streak reached seven games (0-6-0-1).
