
Pirates Come From Behind to Beat Sharks 3-2

Portland, ME - The Portland Pirates picked up back to back home wins with a 3-2 victory over Worcester in come from behind fashion. Portland trailed 2-0 with 7:53 left in the second period, but scored three unanswered to win as Jhonas Enroth made 41 saves.
The Sharks struck first as Matt Fornataro scored his first goal of the season from Patrick Traverse and P.J. Fenton. The goal came 10:32 into the first period and gave Worcester the early lead. The Sharks outshot the Pirates 14-7 in the period, but couldn't find the back of the net again. In the second period, Patrick Traverse scored on a blast from inside the left point. The veteran's second goal of the year was assisted by Cory Larose and Ryan Vesce. The Pirates answered 4:48 later when Colin Murphy threw a shot on net and beat Taylor Dakers through the five hole to get the Pirates started. Dylan Hunter and Mathieu Darche grabbed the assists. Portland went into the third down 2-1, but continued the comeback effort early on. Just 70 seconds into the period, Mark Mancari cranked a shot on net and Mathieu Darche found the loose puck already sitting behind Dakers and jammed it home. Tim Kennedy picked up an assist as well and the game was tied 2-2. Nearing the midpoint of the final period, Marek Zagrapan deflected a Mike Weber point shot past Dakers to give Portland a 3-2 lead. Mancari also picked up an assist on the eventual game winning goal. Jhonas Enroth made a handful of saves down the stretch to preserve the win.
Enroth got the hard earned win by stopping a season high 41 shots. Taylor Dakers was saddled with the loss despite making 34 saves on 37 shots.
