Devil Rays Blanked by Whitecaps

Southwest Michigan Devil Rays News Release
The Devil Rays were shut out for the first time this season, losing to the Whitecaps in Comstock Park Saturday afternoon by a final of 3-0.
Alex Jamieson and John Matulia each tallied two hits. Christian Lopez added a double.
Rays' starter Jason Cayton allowed three runs in his five plus innings of work, though only one of those runs was earned. Matt Joyce led off the bottom of the 6th with a round-tripper to extend West Michigan's lead to 3-0.
The bullpen combo of Chris Kelly and Greg Dupas held the Whitecaps in check for the final three frames, allowing one hit.
With the loss, the Rays fall to 4-6. The club has Easter Sunday off before traveling to Appleton to meet the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in a four-game set. The first pitch on Monday comes at 7:35.
