Destin Smith Named Club House Attendant of the Year

Pearl, MS - On Friday, September 2, 2011, the Southern League announced that Destin Smith of the Mississippi Braves was named the 2011 Visiting Clubhouse Attendant of the Year.

Since 2006, Smith has been an integral part of the Braves organization when he started as a bat boy and visiting club house assistant for the AA-Franchise. Then in 2009, he was named the Visiting Clubhouse Manager.

When told of the announcement, Smith said, "First of all I would like to thank all of the umpires and field managers for their votes. Since day one it has been a great experience working for the Braves".

2011 marks the third year in a row Smith has won the coveted title. When asked about his future plans, Smith remarked, "I hope to continue my career in baseball to the highest level, especially with the Braves being such a wonderful organization from top to bottom".
