Desjardins Vanier Cup Tickets Now on Sale

Hamilton, Ontario – The Desjardins Vanier Cup announced today that tickets sales are now open for the 2005 Desjardins Vanier Cup played at Ivor Wynne Stadium in Hamilton on December 3rd, 2005. Over 14,000 fans witnessed the Laval Rouge et Or's victory over the Saskatchewan Huskies at last year's championship, also played at Ivor Wynne Stadium.

"We are pleased to continue our relationship with Desjardins Group who returns as the title partner for the game and we are also thrilled to have Canadian Football Hall of Fame inductee and Hamilton native Russ Jackson returning as chair of the Desjardins Vanier Cup hosting committee", declared Kevin Webster, Event Director at True Gravity Sports and Entertainment. "As we announce the ticket structure for this year's game, we recognize that it is our partners who provide us with the flexibility to give back to the community."

This year, ten percent (10%) of all revenues from tickets sold before September 1st, 2005 will be used to bring minor football players to the game.

"Desjardins is proud to announce this new program designed to invite young fans to the Canadian University Football Championship", said Alban D'Amours, President and Chief Executive Officer of Desjardins Group.

This new initiative along with the Desjardins Lucky Seat Draw, which allows organizations to sell game tickets as a fundraiser while offering a great list of prizes, the Future of Football program which gives fans the opportunity to send a minor football player to the game, and the Touch Down Pass for Kids program which gives corporations and local businesses the chance to send children to the game who otherwise would not be able to attend.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are also partnering up with the Desjardins Vanier Cup once again this year. The Ticats will provide ticket sales and promotional support, accessing some of the best football fans in Canada. The partnership also provides Tiger-Cat season ticket holders with the opportunity to purchase their seats to the Desjardins Vanier Cup tickets at a discounted price to enjoy one last game of football in 2005 as well as a chance to win a trip for two to the Grey Cup in Vancouver which will be drawn at the September 30th Hamilton Tiger-Cats home game vs. the Edmonton Eskimos.

Tickets to this year's game range from $15 to $50.
