The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club's marketing department was front and centre at last night's Regina & District Chamber of Commerce Paragon Awards, taking home the Marketing and Promotional Achievement award thanks to its successful 2004 marketing campaign.

Along with creative partners, The Phoenix Group, the Roughriders received the award for their "Heart of a Nation" campaign featured in television, radio, print, and outdoor advertising.

Roughrider President/CEO Jim Hopson said it was an honour for the club to receive this recognition.

"It's rewarding to have our marketing efforts recognized in this manner," said Hopson. "At the end of the day, it's our fans that drive our marketing campaigns and we share these awards with them."

The Paragon Awards are an annual presentation by the Regina & District Chamber of Commerce dedicated to excellence in business.

The Roughrider marketing strategies continue to lead the Canadian Football League in promoting the game day experience fans have come to expect at Taylor Field. The Phoenix Group and the Riders are currently working on the 2005 marketing campaign, which will be unveiled in May.
